Dr. Joseph Youssef is a North New Jersey native. He started his education in 2006 at Columbia University in New York City. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering. He then went on to pursue medical school training at Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine then completed his general surgery residency at Hackensack University Medical Center. He also pursued specialty training at the renowned Case Western University Hospitals in Cleveland where he completed a fellowship in Bariatric, Foregut, and Minimally Invasive Surgery.
During his fellowship, he performed hundreds of bariatric operations, including laparoscopic and robotic gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy, duodenal switch, and bariatric revisional operations. He has a lot experience in advanced foregut surgery and is well versed with laparoscopic Nissen fundoplication for gastroesophageal reflux disease, LINX procedure, TIF (Transoral Incisionless Fundoplication), and the Stretta procedure. During the fellowship, he gained extensive experience with complex endoscopic procedures as well as a passion for Robotic Surgery.
